I just had my fireplace repaired by Keith and Lamonte from Housewarmings, and they were awesome! My fireplace needed a pilot assembly and a starter valve, and they showed up both times and took care of the problem! They were extremely respectful and very hard workers! I highly recommend them for any fireplace needs!

Most fall service calls come down to six things. Find yours below, see what our technician will check, then send it straight into your service request.
What a gas fireplace service visit actually covers
A tune up is not a quick look and a wipe down. Here is what we go through on a standard gas fireplace, insert or gas log service call.
- Burner and pilot assembly cleaned. Dust, pet hair and spider webs over summer are the number one reason a pilot drops out in October.
- Gas pressure and valve tested. We confirm the unit is getting what the manufacturer calls for, in and out.
- Thermocouple, thermopile and ignition checked. Weak millivolt readings get caught here instead of on a 20 degree night.
- Glass pulled, cleaned and resealed. The white film on the inside of the glass comes off properly, with the right product and a fresh gasket check.
- Logs and embers reset to spec. Misplaced logs are a common cause of sooting and lazy orange flame.
- Venting, safety switches and clearances inspected. You get a plain English report of anything we would want to fix, with the cost before we touch it.
The first cold night is the worst time to learn your fireplace will not light. Get it looked at while the weather is still on your side.

Tell us what it is doing
Send the form or call the showroom. The more you can tell us about the brand, model and symptom, the better prepared the technician arrives.
We confirm your visit

Serviced and tested
We clean, diagnose and repair on site where parts allow, then run the fireplace with you so you see it working before we leave.
What neighbors say after a service call
Pulled straight from our Google Business Profile, word for word. Swipe or use the arrows.
Called because of leak in my fireplace. They were at my house the next day and had it fixed. Fast response and good customer service.
Home appointment for the fireplace was on time and the tech was able to complete the repair quickly. He was friendly and helpful and left the house clean. Thanks for the service.
Keith Johnson checked out our logs, cleaned everything and changed our batteries. He also patiently and courteously answered all our questions and tutored us on our remote control’s functions. Great service.
Excellent service and accountability! We purchased our fireplace insert from Housewarmings in 2019. In late 2021, we began having an issue with the fire going out on its own. We requested a service call in January 2022. the service team at Housewarmings came to our home, addressed our concerns, and corrected the issue as if our products had just been purchased! We really appreciated the excellent customer service and quick response. “You get what you pay for!”
The service men just left after taking care of starting logs and educating me a little, which was helpful. Capable and well informed, and courteous. Thanks for taking care of things again for another year
We had a great experience with a warranty repair. In addition, when we had logs installed, it was a seemless installation. We would gladly use them again.
We bought 2 gas log sets to replace our old sets. Jeanne provided great sales service. Gil & Keith did fantastic work with the installations. even returning later in the day with more lava rock to better cover the area around one of the log sets. THANKS so much everyone!
We recently had our Fireplace serviced. Molly was great to deal with. The Technician she sent did a great job.
If your unit is past its useful life, we will tell you that too.
Some fireplaces are 25 years old and every part is discontinued. When repair stops making sense, our technician says so and you can walk our Palumbo Drive showroom to see current inserts and gas log sets running side by side. No pressure either way.

Questions we get every fall
Once a year, and early fall is the right window. Manufacturers call for annual service on gas burning appliances, and the cleaning alone prevents most of the pilot and ignition failures we see in December.
Yes. Most of the units we service came from somewhere else. Tell us the brand and model if you can find it on the rating plate behind the lower louver, and we will bring what we are likely to need.
You get the service call rate when we book, before anyone comes out, so there is no guessing. If repairs are needed beyond the standard visit, the technician quotes the work and you approve it before we start.
Usually not. The common causes are a dirty pilot assembly or a weak thermocouple, and both are routine. It only becomes a larger job when the gas valve itself has failed, which we confirm with a meter rather than assuming.
A faint burning dust smell for the first 20 to 30 minutes of the season is normal. A sharp chemical smell, a gas smell or one that never fades is not. If you smell gas, shut the unit off, leave the house and call your gas utility first, then call us.
Availability tightens fast once the temperature drops, so the earlier in the season you request a visit the better your choice of dates. Send the form and we will call you back during showroom hours with the soonest window we have.
We stock common service parts and carry gas log sets in the showroom on Palumbo Drive. If your unit needs something specific to the brand, we order it and get you back on the schedule as soon as it lands.
Clear about three feet in front of the fireplace, move anything fragile off the mantel and make sure the gas shutoff is accessible. If you have the owner manual or the model number handy, set it out. That is all we need.
Get ready for fireplace season while there is still room on the calendar.
